I've got a piece of paper; But it's Empty
Hey, back! sorry, i am unable to blog abt the first RSP fieldtrip becuz i was unable to make for it. Uhm, there was this RSP lesson we had some time back and i'm back here to blog abt it. It was about Burma.....ya, so here it is:
+ The Burmese have eight days in a week (cool!). Their Wednesdays are divided into "two" days, morning and afternoon.
+ Everyone knows the day of the week he/she were born and they pray at the shrine for the day which they were born.
+ Placing gold leaf on shrine as a donation is a common practice.
+ The Burmese are known for their gentle, soft-spoken manner (they are real polite!).
+ The Burmese Martyrs' Day is celebrated on July 19.
+ Burmese people celebrate the Thingyan festival which is the Burmese New Year Water festival and its held around mid-April.
+ There are around 135 tribes each with its own dialect and attire (uh oh...) .
+ Myanmar was under the British colony.
+ Mandalay, a cultural city, was also the last capital of the Burmese Monarchy. It is the second largest city, 680 km north of Yangon and its the center of arts and crafts.
That's all for now. I dun really want to cram too much information at one time. Sorry for the lack of pictures in this post, but will surely come back with more :D Buhbye!
